Sabinsky District (Russian: Саби́нский райо́н; Tatar: Cyrillic Саба районы, Latin Saba rayonı) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the forty-three in the Republic of Tatarstan, Russia. It is located in the north of the republic. The area of the district is 1,097.7 square kilometers (423.8 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the urban locality (an urban-type settlement) of Bogatye Saby.[2] Population: 31,038 (2010 Census);[5] 31,317 (2002 Census);[8] 42,585 (1989 Census).[9] The population of Bogatye Saby accounts for 24.7% of the district's total population.[5]
