Sagami-Ōno Station (相模大野駅 Sagami-Ōno-eki?) is a railway station in the city of Sagamihara, Kanagawa Prefecture, Japan, served by both the Odawara Line and the Enoshima Line of the Odakyū Electric Railway.

The station is 32.4 rail kilometers from the Odawara Line’s terminal at Shinjuku Station and is the terminus of the Enoshima Line.

Station history

Sagami-Ōno Station began on April 1, 1929 as the Sagami-Ōno Signal. It was upgraded to a full station on April 1, 1938 as the Tsūshin-Gakkō Station (通信学校駅 Tsūshin-Gakkō-eki?), being named after the nearby Army Telecommunication School (Rikugun Tsūshin-Gakkō). It was renamed to its present name on January 1, 1941 amid the counter-intelligence movement of eliminating the names of military facilities from maps.[1] Work began on the new station complex from September 1, 1996.
