St. Paul is a town in Collin County, Texas, United States. The population was 1,066 at the 2010 census,[1] up from 630 at the 2000 census.

Geography

St. Paul is located in southern Collin County at Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found..[2] It is bordered to the west, south, and east by the city of Wylie. The city of Lucas is to the north.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 1.5 square miles (4.0 km2), of which 0.004 square miles (0.01 km2), or 0.34%, is water.[1]

As of the census[5] of 2000, there were 630 people, 223 households, and 187 families residing in the town. The population density was 391.9 people per square mile (151.1/km2). There were 232 housing units at an average density of 144.3 per square mile (55.6/km2). The racial makeup of the town was 93.49% White, 0.63% African American, 0.48% Native American, 1.27% Asian, 0.16% Pacific Islander, 1.43% from other races, and 2.54% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 4.13% of the population.

There were 223 households out of which 37.7% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 76.2% were married couples living together, 2.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 15.7% were non-families. 13.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 2.2% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.83 and the average family size was 3.09.

In the town the population was spread out with 26.8% under the age of 18, 4.6% from 18 to 24, 31.6% from 25 to 44, 26.3% from 45 to 64, and 10.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 40 years. For every 100 females there were 103.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 103.1 males.

The median income for a household in the town was $72,500, and the median income for a family was $73,906. Males had a median income of $55,000 versus $30,875 for females. The per capita income for the town was $29,647. About 5.4% of families and 6.1% of the population were below the poverty line, including 5.6% of those under age 18 and 10.2% of those age 65 or over.
