CHAHI is a scenic and pollution-free valley in Azad Kashmir surrounded by mountains covered in pine trees. Most of the inhabitants speak Pahari, with some Punjabi influence. Urdu is still spoken and understood among the villagers.

Important locations include:

  • Jandi Chontra, about 1000 meters above sea level, a scenic spot that is an eastern gateway to Samani valley
  • Baghsar Lake
  • Samahni town
  • Baba Shadi Shaheed, shrine for a 16th-century ruler Shadab Khan, descendant of the Chib dynasty in Bhimber.

The Samahni valley is about 35 km long and 8 km wide, stretching from Chawlian to Behmla in the West.[1]

Villages chahi is a famous village of tehsil samahni. Famous personality ch qamar mushtaq of samahni also belonged to this village. He is a famous leader and a great politician.
