The Saraikistan Movement is an affiliation of political parties, politicians and groups in Pakistan aiming to establish a separate province called Saraikistan for those of Saraiki ethnicity. Saraikistan would contain South Punjab. Doing so would allocate more rights to the people in the province than were previously allocated under Punjabi hegemony. The proposed province would contain 16 districts of punjab: Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Vehari, Lodhran, Rajan Pur, Bahawal Pur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim yar khan, Layyah, Muzaffargarh, Khushab, bhakkar, Mianwali, Khanewal, Sargodha, jhang, dera ismail khan and Tank(k.p.k) saraiki tehsil of Dera ismail Khan.

The Saraiki are 10% of the population of Pakistan but their rights are neglected. The confirmation of the Saraiki people would result in reduced parity for the Punjabis. Some Saraiki representatives believe in Saraiki independence from Punjab[1]
