Scott F. Gilbert

Scott Frederick Gilbert (born 1949) is an American developmental biologist.

Gilbert is Professor of Biology (emeritus) at Swarthmore College and a Professor at the University of Helsinki. In 1971 he obtained his B.A. in biology from Wesleyan University his PhD from the Johns Hopkins University in 1976.[1]

He is the author of the popular textbook Developmental Biology (1985) (now in its tenth edition, 2013).[2] Scott is notable for his research in the field of ecological evolutionary developmental biology.[3][4]
