Scotty McKnight (born February 11, 1988) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the New York Jets in the seventh round of the 2011 NFL Draft. He played college football at Colorado.

Early years

McKnight was born in Newport Beach, California on February 11, 1988. During his senior year at Tesoro High School, McKnight was nearly expelled after writing in a private journal entry for a class assignment that contained alleged death threats directed towards his young, female teacher.[1] McKnight did not deny the journal and conceded the entry was a lapse in judgement but, he did state that the matter was a misunderstanding.[1] The school suspended McKnight indefinitely while an investigation was conducted and he missed the football team's final eight games of the season.[1]

College career

McKnight was a walk-on at the University of Colorado. He finished his career there with the school's all-time records for receiving touchdowns and receptions. He finished with 215 catches, 2,521 yards, and 22 receiving touchdowns.[2]
