The Second Battle of Katwa occurred between the Nawab of Bengal and Maratha Empire in 1745. After the initial loss of the Maratha's at the First Battle of Katwa, the Maratha General, Raghuji Bhonsle again attempted to conquer Katwa. Bhonsle, with 20,000 horsemen attacked the civilians of Murshidabad and moved onwards to Katwa, where Nawab of Bengal Ali Vardi Khan again defeated Raghuji and his men, sending them out of Bengal.[1]
