Senior plc is the holding company for a global group of firms in the manufacturing and engineering industries, headquartered in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire. The Company is listed on the London Stock Exchange and is a constituent of the FTSE 250 Index.

History

Senior was originally established in 1933 by a group of former employees of Green's Economisers Ltd. as a rival concern.[2] The company was listed on the London Stock Exchange as Senior Economisers Limited in 1947.[2]

Operations

Senior's constituent companies are grouped in two divisions: Aerospace, which manufactures components and systems for clients in the aerospace industry; and Flexonics, which primarily supplies the automotive and energy industries.

Senior Flexonics operates as follows in various cities around the world:

Bartlett
Bartlett engineers and manufactures complex assemblies that require forming, welding, brazing, soldering and assembly of metallic components for automotive and industrial applications.

Blois
Blois is the European market leader[citation needed] in high pressure tubes for diesel and gasoline fuel injections systems, diesel fuel rails and turbo oil feed lines.

Canada
Canada's largest manufacturer and distributor of expansion joints, flexible metal and PTFE hose, flexible connectors and cryogenic equipment for pressure and tubing systems.

Cape Town
Manufactures flexible exhaust connectors, decouplers, cross over bellows, and turbo dampers mainly for the European and North American automotive markets.

Crumlin
Manufactures exhaust gas re-circulation (EGR) tubes, EGR coolers, and turbo oil drain components.[citation needed]

GAMFG
GAMFG Precision manufactures machined components and assemblies for heavy-duty diesel engine applications in the off-road land vehicle market and has a growing aerospace presence.[citation needed]

Kassel
Senior Flexonics GmbH is a worldwide supplier of flexible metal hoses, expansion joints and metal bellows.

Lymington
Manufacturer of precision-machined components, fabrications, assemblies and kit sets for the oil and gas, telecommunications, aerospace, defence, land and sea systems, nuclear and marine industries.

New Delhi
Manufactures a variety of stainless steel flexible corrugated hose for automotive and industrial applications, flexible exhaust connectors, EGR, and turbo oil drain products.

Olomouc
Produces aluminium tubes for heating, air-conditioning & evaporator systems, and carbon steel water tubes and turbo oil feed & drain lines.

Pathway
Pathway is the involved in the design, and manufacture of metal and fabric expansion joints.[citation needed]

São Paulo
Delivers flexible exhaust connectors, expansion joints and spring hangers for the automotive and industrial sectors within Brazil and for export.

UPECA
An Asian manufacturer of metal machining and mechanical assembly for Flow Controls, Oilfield Services and Sub-sea Sectors for the Energy, Oil & Gas industries

Shareholder structure

At 26 February 2010 seven institutions held a share of greater than 3% in Senior. Of these, the largest stakeholders were BlackRock (12.28%), Scottish Widows Investment Partnership (8.50%), Henderson Global Investors (7.40%), Legal & General Asset Management (6.39%).[3] All of the company's shares are considered free float.
