Shin Dong-wook (born Shin Hwa-shik on September 14, 1982) is a South Korean actor. He is best known for his leading roles in Soulmate and Cloud Stairs (both in 2006), and his supporting role in War of Money (2007).[1][2] Shin has been out of the public eye since 2011, when he was discharged early from mandatory military service upon diagnosis of a rare condition, complex regional pain syndrome (CRPS), a chronic disease that causes extreme bouts of pain without a known cause or cure.[3][4]
