Shinya Izumi

Shinya Izumi (泉 信也 Izumi Shin'ya?, born August 1, 1937) is a Japanese politician, who has been serving as chairman of National Public Safety Commission in Shinzō Abe's cabinet since August 2007. He is a member of Liberal Democratic Party and member of the House of Councillors in the Diet of Japan (parliament).[1]

Born in former town of Yoshii, Fukuoka, he graduated from Kyushu University with a degree in engineering. He was elected for the first time in 1992.[1]
