Silvia Navarro (born Silvia Angélica Navarro Barva on September 14, 1978 in Irapuato, Guanajuato, Mexico) is a Mexican actress of film, television, and theatre, primarily known for starring in several telenovelas. 2012 The Spanish People magazine named her one of "50 Most Beautiful".

Biography

Navarro was born on September 14, 1978 in Irapuato, Guanajuato. She attended and graduated from Centro de Formacion Actoral (CEFAC), TV Azteca’s acting school in Mexico City. She studied with accomplished instructors such as Raul Quintanilla and Hector Mendoza. In 2012, Navarro confirmed she's in a relationship with Gerardo Casanova. In February 17th 2015 Silvia confirmed her pregnancy. Later she confirmed that the baby was a boy. On September 7, 2015 she announced that she gave birth to a boy, Léon.

Career

Navarro has appeared onstage in plays such as Mar Muerto, El Tenorio Comico, and Quimicos Para El Amor"El Misantropo". Her film roles include Dragones: Destino de Fuego (2006), Esperanza (2005) and Mujer Alabastrina (2005). "Cabeza de Buda" Labios RojosDragones: Destino de Fuego is a 3-D animated film in which she lends her voice to Marina. In television, she hosted the kids' game show A La Cachi, Cachi Porra in 1997. Her IMDb profile shows that her first TV appearance was in 1975, in the telenovela Perla in which she played the dual role of Julieta/Perla alongside Leonardo Garcia in 1998,as a baby she did commercials for disposable diapers.

Her next three roles, also for TV Azteca, were in the telenovelas Catalina y Sebastian (1999) and La Calle de Las Novias, and Cuando Seas Mia (2001). All three novelas also starred Sergio Basañez who played the lead male character in both Catalina Y Sebastian and Cuando Seas Mia. In La Calle de Las Novias, he was the lead antagonist to Juan Manuel Bernal, who played the lead and romantic interest of Silvia's character, Aura Sanchez. In 2002, Silvia started in the telenovela La Duda, alongside Omar Germenos."Montecristo" as Laura with Diego Olivera.(2006)

In 2005 Silvia finally returned to the small screen, playing the lead role of Maria Claudia in the telenovela La Heredera with Sergio Basañez. In July 2008 Silvia signed a contract with Televisa and starred as the protagonist, in the soap opera Mañana es Para Siempre as Fernanda Elizalde Rivera, alongside Lucero and Fernando Colunga.

In the spring of 2009, it was rumored that Navarro was going to star in the series Mujeres Asesinas but was later confirmed that she would not star in the series. In 2010, she returned to Televisa and starred in Cuando Me Enamoro, where she portrayed the protagonist, Renata Monterrubio alongside Juan Soler and Jessica Coch. In the same year she starred in the controversial film La dictadura perfecta, which in a very direct way criticizes the Mexican government.

In 2012, she starred as the protagonist, Camila Monterde in Amor Bravío alongside Cristian de la Fuente and Leticia Calderón.

As of 2014, Navarro stars, once again as the protagonist, in Juan Osorio's telenovela Mi Corazón Es Tuyo as Ana Leal, alongside Jorge Salinas and Mayrin Villanueva.
