Sirat al-Mustaqim
aṣ-Ṣirāṭ al-mustaqīm (Arabic: الصراط المستقيم) is the Arabic term for the straight path. In an Islamic context, it has been interpreted as the right path, Islamic faith, has been variously translated as "The Middle Way" and as that which pleases God.
There are five obligatory daily prayers in Islam. During the two first cycles of each prayer the following phrase is included:
- Ihdinā ṣ-ṣirāṭa al-mustaqīm, Ṣirāṭa al-laḏīna anʿamta ʿalayhim ġayri l-maġḍūbi ʿalayhim walā ḍ-ḍāllīn
- Show us the straight path, The path of those You bestowed favor upon, not anger upon, and not of those who go astray.
This is included when the believer recites Surah Al-Fatiha.
Life for Muslims is not for name, glory, status, comfort, or enjoyment.The believe that every moment in this life will be evaluated by Allah (The Creator of the Universe and eveything in it) on the Day of Judgement. They are supposed to guard their brain from evil thoughts, guard their heart from evil desires, guard their eyes from evil looks, guard their tongue from evil talks, guard their hands from evil actions, & guard their legs from going to evil places.
The Sirat-al-Mustaqim (Arabic: الصراط المستقيم) refers to the path of Islam which leads on to the path of success in the hereafter.
