The Sony ILCE-QX1[1][2] is a mobile device mountable, Wi-Fi-controlled camera module announced by Sony on 3 September 2014. Part of the Sony Alpha family, it has a 20.1 MP sensor, requires an exchangeable E-mount lens, supports power zoom, and has a pop-up flash, but no in-body image stabilisation.[3] On the ILCE-QX1 itself there are buttons for on/off, flash pop-up, lens release and shutter.[4] The camera module can be remote-controlled through an iOS or Android device, to which it connects through Wi-Fi.[5] The ILCE-QX1 allows capture in RAW format, but RAW files can only be directly wirelessly transferred to Android devices, not, as of September 2014, to iOS.[5] Video capture is possible in FullHD at 30p,[3] and battery life for still capture is rated at 440 shots.[6]
