South Hayward is a Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) station located near Tennyson Road in the southern part of Hayward. The station consists of two side platforms. The station serves the industrial part of Hayward. BART's Hayward train yard is south of this station and is where BART sends trains for service and repair, for its Daly City to Fremont, Dublin to Pleasanton, Richmond to Fremont and Daly City lines. While travelling between South Hayward and Union City BART stations, idle BART trains as well as some rare replacement train parts, such as new outer-front A car BART train shells, are visible.

Service at this station began on September 11, 1972.[3]
