South New Castle is a borough in Lawrence County, Pennsylvania, United States. The population was 709 at the 2010 census. South New Castle is primarily a residential neighborhood which lies south of the southern border of the city of New Castle. The borough is made up of small to medium-sized single family homes.

The racial makeup of the borough was 99.38% White, 0.37% Native American, 0.12% Asian, and 0.12% from two or more races.

There were 309 households, out of which 31.1% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.2% were married couples living together, 10.4% had a female householder with no husband present, and 24.6% were non-families. 22.0% of all households were made up of individuals, and 15.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.61 and the average family size was 3.04.
