Lua error in package.lua at line 80: module 'strict' not found. Spero News is a conservative Catholic news website.[1] "Spero" means "I hope" in Latin.

Spero News was launched in April 2005 by Robert Duncan, a blogger based in Madrid, Spain, and Clint Gillespie, based in Houston, Texas.[1] It is headquartered in Houston, Texas, and its parent company, the Spero Group (launched in 2002), also includes the site Impact Wire.

Description

Since 2009 Spero News edited by Martin Barillas, who previously served as the site's Religion editor. Initially written by anonymous "citizen journalists",[1] Spero News now has a masthead of regular writers, who include Stephanie Block, Garry O'Sullivan, Melissa Beale, John Rausch, Mine Yildirim, Peter Van Buren, Nicolaas Vergunst, Martyn Drakard, John Dayal, Tom Balmforth, James Bowman, and Star Parker.[2]
