The Spice Girls are a British pop group that released 3 studio albums, 1 greatest hits compilation and 13 singles globally between July 1996 and February 2008. The group, with members Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell, Emma Bunton, Melanie Brown and Victoria Beckham, sold more than 85 million records and topped every major albums chart around the world including Britain, United States, Australia, Japan, Canada, France and Germany. After a hiatus of nearly seven years, all five founding members of the group reunited in 2007 for a greatest hits album and a world tour.

The Brit Awards are the British Phonographic Industry's annual pop music awards. The Spice Girls has been nominated nine times and has picked up an impressive five awards, including three special awards, in 1998 a special recognition award for global album sales, in 2000 a special recognition award recognising outstanding talent, previous winners include Elton John, Annie Lennox, u2, The Beatles and Queen, and in 2010 special award recognising the best performances over the 30 years of the Brit Awards.
