Hotel Management

Srinivas College' of Hotel Management was established in 1988. It is the one of the oldest institute offering hotel management courses in India and is affiliated with Mangalore University leading to B.H.M. The college is located in Pandeshwar, Mangalore.Notable former students are Sreekumar Anandan (Kuwait), Joyal C Thomas (U.K), Kochunni Krishnan (Dubai), Deepu Kurian James (Canada), Sugith Kottyan (Emirates Group), Binoy John (USA), Anish Abraham (Australia).

Srinivas College of physiotherapy and Research Centre, Mangalore, started BPT in December 1993 in the cosmopolitan city of Mangalore, Karnataka. Our founder Late Sri. A.Shama Rao strongly believed that education can transform society fast and pay rich dividend.

Srinivas college of Physiotherapy is located in scenic campus, situated at Pandeshwar, which is the heart of Mangalore city and is functioning with the aegis of Sri A.Raghavendra Rao, leading chartered accountant, a successful businessman, industrialist and educationalist and philanthropist.

We started MPT in 2000 and in 2008 Srinivas college of Physiotherapy was upgraded as a research center, which is the first center affiliated by Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka. The college offers Bachelors, Master and Doctoral degree(PhD). The college provides excellent academic and clinical facilities to the student, it also has an active alumni has of over 1000 students across the world. The college has excellent infrastructure for academics, sports and other extracurricular activities.

For abroad placements of our students SCPTRC has tie up with Kare Partners, Inc. (2009), a Leading Health care provider in North Carolina, USA. SCPTRC is the first college to provide General Education Credit Course (2009) to meet the US equivalent educational credits in physiotherapy. SCPTRC also offers DSST examinations (2010) provided by prometric, USA.

Affiliation & Recognitions:

The college is affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Karnataka, Bangalore and a member of Indian Assiciation of Physiotherapists (IAP), which is a member of world confederation of Physical Therapists (WCPT).

Over the last decade the Srinivas College of Physiotherapy has leaped forward and we are among the leading physiotherapy colleges in Karnataka and indeed in India. We are currently running BPT course and MPT courses successfully on cardiology, orthopaedics, neurology, sports, paediatrics, and community rehabilitation. BPT Course is the primary focus at SCPT. The programme is aimed to develop progressive levels of clinical autonomy through successive years of the course; ensuring graduates are well prepared for the dynamic and constantly changing health care setting.

MPT Course is the most sought course in SCPT, where research is the main focus in our college along with evidence based clinical practice. Doctoral Degree Program is supported by research laboratories “Movement Analysis Unit” Balance and Postural Control Unit, EMG and Neuro-Physiology Unit, cardio vigil Unit and Data Processing Unit.

We promise and ensure that our tradition and reputation for fostering clinical physiotherapy autonomy and physiotherapy research will be at the highest level to achieve our motto “Samagra Gnana” “Our duty is to encourage everyone in their struggle to live up to their own highest ideals, and strive at the same time to make the ideal as near as possible to the Truth.”[3]

(2years course). The candidates who have completed DPT course conducted by paramedical board are eligible for admission to BPT course in lateral entry.

Nursing

The group has an institute offering courses in nursing. A Shama Rao nursing school offers three and half years diploma in nursing. The college was started in 2003. The candidate desiring admission must have passed pre university course in science stream with biology as one of the subject. The clinical facilities are in and around Mangalore city.

Computer Application

The Srinivas Institute of Management studies offers M.C.A* course. The B.C.A course is offered by Srinivas First Grade College. Both* the colleges are affiliated to Mangalore University*. The M.C.A as well as B.C.A courses are of three years duration. The minimum requirement of admission to B.C.A is 45% pass marks in a pre university course. MCA course is also offered by Srinivas Institute of Technology, Valachil, Mangalore. The college is affiliated to VTU Belgaum.

Business Administration

The Srinivas Institute of Management studies offers two year full-time M.B.A course .The B.B.M course is offered by Srinivas First Grade College has duration of three years. Both of these colleges are affiliated to Mangalore University.

Engineering

Four year engineering course leading to Bachelor in Engineering degree( B.E ) is offered by Srinivas Institute of Technology and Srinivas School of Engineering.

Pharmacy

The Srinivas College of Pharmacy belongs to the Srinivas group of colleges. The college offers BPharma course of four-year duration. It is located at Valachil village near Mangalore. The first Batch of B.Pharma will be out in 2008. Hence Srinivas College of Pharmacy will complete its 4 years in 2008. Master's degree in Pharmacy is now available for affordable fees.
