Easiest route | A 4-wheel drive dirt road ascends from the Interstate 80 service road east into El Dorado Canyon, then up the ridge on the north side of the canyon, and finally north along the west side of the summit to a saddle 1 mile north and 800 feet below the peak; a dirt track branches off from here to the actual peak itself. Star Peak is both the highest and most topographically prominent mountain in both the Humboldt Range and Pershing County in Nevada, United States. It is the sixth-most topographically prominent peak in Nevada.[3] The peak is on public land administered by the Bureau of Land Management and thus has no access restrictions.[4]
