Switzerland was represented in the Eurovision Song Contest 2005 by Vanilla Ninja with the song "Cool Vibes".

Swiss broadcaster SF DRS only accepted candidates who had reached the charts in Switzerland and internally selected the Estonian girl-band Vanilla Ninja to represent Switzerland at the Eurovision Song Contest with the song "Cool Vibes". The song was officially made public on March 5, 2005 during a show hosted by Sandra Studer to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Eurovision Song Contest. The song is written by John O'Flynn and composed by David Brandes.

Vanilla Ninja is made up of Katrin Siska, Piret Järvis, Triinu Kivilaan, and Lenna Kuurmaa. Since their debut single "Club Kung Fu" was released in 2003, the girls have had many hits in Central Europe, including "Tough Enough", "When the Indians Cry", "Blue Tattoo" and "I Know". The group have four albums in various countries across Europe; Vanilla Ninja was released in 2003, Traces of Sadness in 2004, and Blue Tattoo and Best of in 2005.
