tART Collective

tART is an art collective in NYC, engaging in art making and art collaborations through an intersectional feminist & anti-racist perspective. tART has been around since 2004, making it the longest existing feminist art collective in NYC. [1] tART members have presented on topics of female artist collectives and feminism at the College Art Association conference as well as the University of Portland State University[2] and collaborated with Create Collective on a multi-arts workshop in response to a rise in sexual and/or street harassment as it affects women and/or the LGBTQ community in the Brooklyn area [3] The group has held several group shows in NYC (and Prague) and included programming that includes a reading of the Immigrant Manifesto [4]

"tART’s collective actions are resilient and possess sophisticated adaptability. They change as situations change. Their network (or the configuration of their network) is constantly on the move." Curator Heng Gil Han, 2012 [5]
