Temple's 2015 football season opener against Penn State

T for Temple U is a cheer song of Temple University, used at sporting events as well as school spirit-related functions such as pep rallies. It is not to be confused with "Fight! Temple, Fight!," the school's fight song. Temple's sports teams are known as the Owls. The song was written in the 1980s by a member of the Temple University Diamond Marching Band. It consists of an instrumental introduction before going into the fight cheer itself.

During games, the song is repeated either twice or four times, depending on the occasion. The song is also accompanied by arm movements that reflect the lyrics: for example, the first two lines has the singer form a T with his or her arms for "T for Temple" followed by a U for "U," which is held until the last syllable of "university," when the arms form a T again.

Temple's official fight song is "Fight! Temple, Fight!"
