Tamara Finkelstein

Tamara Margaret Finkelstein (born 24 May 1967) is a British civil servant who is currently the permanent secretary at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.[1][2] Having studied engineering science at Balliol College, Oxford and economics at the London School of Economics, Finkelstein joined HM Treasury in 1992. After 22 years at the Treasury, in 2014 Finkelstein joined the Department of Health and Social Care (then the Department of Health), as Chief Operating Officer and director-general. In 2018, she joined DEFRA as director-general for EU Exit Delivery, and succeeded Clare Moriarty as the permanent secretary in 2019. Her brothers areProf. Anthony Finkelstein, and Daniel, The Lord Finkelstein.
