The Daily Wire[1] is a politically conservative and socially conservative American news and opinion website founded in 2015 by conservative political commentator and nationally syndicated columnist Ben Shapiro who serves as Editor-in-chief. It also has daily online shows, The Ben Shapiro Show and The Andrew Klavan Show.

Ideology

The Daily Wire is a leading publisher on Facebook, and produces podcasts such as The Ben Shapiro Show. Previously headquartered in Los Angeles, California,[2] it is currently based in Nashville, Tennessee. Many Daily Wire stories repackage journalism from mainstream media organizations while adding a conservative slant. It has been a prominent publisher of articles on global warming skepticism.

By March 2019, The Daily Wire's Ben Shapiro Show podcast was the most listened to conservative podcast in the United States. It ranked at #2, right behind The New York Times podcast The Daily.[3]

Despite the claims of the extreme-left that The Daily Wire is fascist,[4] Matt Walsh was attacked by Nick Fuentes for criticizing white nationalism,[5] and Ben Shapiro was described as the #1 target of the alt-right in 2016 by the Anti-Defamation League.[6]

Michael Knowles was permanently banned from Fox News for describing radical environmentalist Greta Thunberg as, "a mentally ill Swedish child." Thunberg has ADHD, Asperger's Syndrome, and selective mutism, and has been diagnosed with depression.[7]

In addition to news dissemination, The Daily Wire announced in 2021 that it would begin functioning as a Hollywood competitor. They have already released their first fictional feature film Run Hide Fight,[8] which was received very well by audiences,[9] and they hired "cancelled" actress Gina Carano for an upcoming one.[10]
