The Devil and the Deep Blue Sea is an upcoming film directed and rewritten by Bill Purple from an original script by Robbie Pickering featuring Maisie Williams, Jessica Biel, Jason Sudeikis, Mary Steenburgen, Orlando Jones, and Paul Reiser. Biel will also serve as producer along with Mike Landry, Chuck Pacheco, Michelle Purple of Iron Ocean Films, and Carlos Velazquez. Biel's husband Justin Timberlake will compose and serve as music supervisor for the soundtrack.[1] It is set to release sometime in 2016.[2]
Summary
Henry (Jason Sudeikis) is an introverted architect. After his wife Penny (Jessica Biel) is killed in a car accident, he sets out to help Millie (Maisie Williams), a homeless teen, build a raft to sail across the Atlantic.

Production
Pre-production
Chloë Grace Moretz and Jeffrey Dean Morgan were first cast in the roles of Millie and Henry but due to scheduling conflicts, they were replaced by Maisie Williams and Jason Sudeikis respectively.[1]
Filming
Filming began in New Orleans, Louisiana in March 2015.[3]
