Thomas Gayford (born November 21, 1928) is a Canadian equestrian.

He was a member of the Canadian Equestrian Team for show jumping from the late 1940s through the early 1970s, and later coached equestrian sports.[1] At the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, he represented Canada. He then won a gold medal in 1959 at the Pan-America Games, and his team won many international events also. At the 1971 Olympic games, Gayford was team captain. In 1968, he won a gold medal with the Canadian team at the Olympics in Mexico City.[2] In 1972, he was three times the individual high-jumping champion at the New York International Horse Show. Gayford was chef d'équipe of the Canadian national jumping team after 1978, and designed the 1976 Montreal Olympic equestrian course.
