Tiger Woods PGA Tour 08 is the fourth-to-latest Tiger Woods golfing video game in the PGA Tour series from Electronic Arts. It was released in North America on August 28, 2007 for multiple platforms except the Mac version, which was released on September 1.

Technical problems

As of the North American launch, the game has been plagued with many bugs and technical problems, more notably with the Xbox 360 version. Known bugs include system "freezing" and crashing.[citation needed]

The PSP version also has a quite interesting glitch. In PGA tour mode, during a season, certain challenges become impossible to complete due to program errors. Most notably, during a challenge in which a golfer must master challenging shots from the rough, the avatar tees off from the top of a tree and the entire course is upside down. Regardless of how hard or straight the ball is hit, the result of any swing is an out of bounds shot, making it impossible to hole out in less than the 10 shot limit.

There are also reported problems with the uploading of pictures to the EA servers for the Photo Game Face feature. There seem to be problems mainly when the user attempts to browse for pictures on their computer.[1]

One supposed glitch that allows you to take shots from the water prompted EA to make a video proclaiming that Tiger can actually walk on water.[2]

The game was met with positive to mixed reception upon release. GameRankings and Metacritic gave it a score of 81.80% and 81 out of 100 for the DS version;[37][44] 80.44% and 80 out of 100 for the Xbox 360 version;[38][45] 78.73% and 79 out of 100 for the PlayStation 3 version;[39][46] 73.89% and 72 out of 100 for the Wii version;[40][47] 72.80% and 72 out of 100 for the PSP version;[41][48] 68.18% and 65 out of 100 for the PlayStation 2 version;[42][49] and 62.17% and 61 out of 100 for the PC version.[43][50]

Games for Windows gave the PC version 7.5 out of 10.[51]
