Career

Elphick progressed through the youth ranks at Brighton & Hove Albion and was awarded a contract in the summer of 2006.

Elphick plays in central defence and made his Albion debut against Doncaster Rovers during April 2007.[2] He was considered to be one of Brighton's best players, winning the 2007-08 player of the season award.[3]

He became the first player at the club to be contracted to play at the club's new Falmer Stadium when he signed a new contract in December 2008.[4]

His older brother Gary was released by Brighton at the end of the 2005–06 season and went on to play in non-league football.

On 10 August 2012, it was announced he would be joining Bournemouth.[5] Again making an impact, he was appointed captain and won the Daily Echo 2012-13 player of the season award.[6]
