David Anthony "Tony" Halmshaw (birth registered April→June 1946 (age 77–78)[1]) birth registered in Dewsbury district, is an English professional rugby league footballer of the 1970s and '80s, playing at representative level for Great Britain, and at club level for Shaw Cross Sharks ARLFC [1][2], Halifax, Rochdale Hornets, and Castleford, as a Loose forward/Lock, i.e. number 13, during the era of contested scrums.

Tony Halmshaw won a cap for Great Britain while at Halifax in 1971 against New Zealand.[2]

Player's No.6 Trophy final appearances

Tony Halmshaw played Loose forward/Lock in Halifax's 22-11 victory over Wakefield Trinity in the 1971-72 Player's No.6 Trophy final during the 1971-72 season at Odsal Stadium, Bradford on Saturday 22 January 1972, and played Loose forward/Lock in Rochdale Hornets' 16-27 defeat by Warrington in the 1973-74 Player's No.6 Trophy final during the 1973–74 season at Central Park, Wigan on Saturday 9 February 1974.
