Torver is a closed railway station that served the village of Torver, in Cumbria, England and was on the branch line to Coniston.
History
Authorised by Parliament in August 1857 the line to Conistion was open less than two years later in June 1859.[1] The station was used for the shipment of slate and stone from the local quarries. British Railways closed the station and the branch to passengers in 1958 and goods in 1962.[2]
The station building remains and has been converted into holiday accommodation.[3]
