Total complement activity is a test performed to assess the level of functioning of the complement system.

The terms "CH50"[1] or "CH100" may refer to this test. It is a measure of serum's ability to lyse 50% of antibody-coated red blood cells.

It identifies a reduction in function, but does not identify which specific component is involved.
