Chris Flexen (born July 1, 1994) is an American baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization. He attended Newark Memorial High School in Newark, California. He was drafted in the 14th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft out of high school by the Mets.[1]

Robert Gsellman

Robert Gsellman (born July 18, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

Gsellman was drafted by the New York Mets in the 13th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft out of Westchester High School in Los Angeles.[2][3] He signed with the Mets and made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Mets. From 2012 to 2015 he played for the Kingsport Mets, Brooklyn Cyclones, Savannah Sand Gnats, St. Lucie Mets and Binghamton Mets.[4] The Mets added him to their 40-man roster after the season.[5]

Desmond Lindsay

Desmond Lindsay (born January 15, 1997) is an American baseball outfielder in the New York Mets organization. He was drafted by the Mets in the second round of the 2015 Major League Baseball Draft, out of Out-of-Door Academy in Sarasota, Florida.[6] Lindsay was the Mets first pick in the draft as they forfeited their first round pick by signing Michael Cuddyer. He was committed to attend the University of North Carolina but the Mets signed him away from his commitment, giving him a signing bonus of $1,142,700.[7]

Seth Lugo

Jacob Seth Lugo (born November 17, 1989) is an American professional baseball pitcher for the New York Mets organization.

Lugo attended Parkway High School in Bossier City, Louisiana,[8] and Centenary College of Louisiana. The Mets selected him in the 34th round of the 2011 MLB draft.[9] The Mets added him to their 40-man roster after the 2015 season.[5]

Marcos Molina

Marcos Molina (born March 8, 1995) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

Molina signed with the New York Mets as an international free agent in January 2012. He made his professional debut that season with the Dominican Summer League Mets. In 2013 he pitched for the Gulf Coast Mets. Pitching for the Brooklyn Cyclones in 2014,[10] Molina won the Mets Sterling Award, after going 7–3 with a 1.77 earned run average (ERA) and 91 strikeouts.[11][12]

Thomas Javier Rivera (born October 27, 1988) is an American professional baseball infielder in the New York Mets organization.

Rivera grew up in the Throggs Neck neighborhood of The Bronx,[13] and attended Herbert H. Lehman High School. He began his college baseball career at Wallace Community College in Dothan, Alabama,[14] and transferred to Troy University in Troy, Alabama, where he played for the Troy Trojans.[15] He graduated from Troy in 2011,[16] but went unselected in the Major League Baseball draft. Mackey Sasser, his head coach at Wallace Community, recommended him to a scout for the New York Mets, who then signed him as a free agent.[15][13]

Rivera had a .301 batting average in 2011, splitting the season between the Kingsport Mets of the Rookie-level Appalachian League and the Brooklyn Cyclones of the Class A-Short Season New York–Penn League.[17] In 2014, Rivera hit .349 with five home runs and 75 RBIs for the St. Lucie Mets of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League and the Binghamton Mets of the Class AA Eastern League.[15] He returned to Binghamton to start the 2015 season, and was promoted to the Las Vegas 51s of the Class AAA Pacific Coast League on May 16. Despite hitting .306 with 17 doubles in 54 games, the Mets demoted Rivera to Binghamton on August 1.[16]

The Mets invited Rivera to spring training in 2016.[13] He began the 2016 season with Las Vegas.[18]

Josh Smoker

Joshua M. Smoker (born November 26, 1988) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

Smoker was drafted by the Washington Nationals in the first round of the 2007 Major League Baseball draft out of Calhoun High School in Calhoun, Georgia.[19] He played in the Nationals organization until 2012 without appearing in a major league game.

In 2014, Smoker played for the Rockford Aviators of the Frontier League. In 2015, he signed with the New York Mets.[20][21]

Jervis Harvin "Champ" Stuart (born October 11, 1992) is a Bahamian professional baseball player. Stuart plays in Minor League Baseball for the New York Mets' organization.

Stuart attended Christ School in Arden, North Carolina, and Brevard College.[22] Playing for Brevard's college baseball team, the Brevard Tornadoes, Stuart was twice named to the All-South Atlantic Conference team. The New York Mets in the sixth round, with the 176th overall selection, of the 2013 MLB draft.[23][24][25] In 2014, Stuart played for the Savannah Sand Gnats of the Class A South Atlantic League.[26] He began the 2015 season with the St. Lucie Mets of the Class A-Advanced Florida State League.[27]

Travis Taijeron

Travis Nathaniel Taijeron (born January 20, 1989) is a professional baseball right fielder currently playing for the Triple-A Las Vegas 51s in the New York Mets minor league system.

He was born in La Mesa, California and attended Granite Hills High School, where he was a catcher.[28] Before playing professionally, he attended Grossmont College in 2008, where he spent a year and played for their baseball team. In 32 games, he posted a slash line of .382/.472/.563. He transferred to Southwestern College in 2009 and hit .353/.453/.601 in 42 games. For 2010, he moved to Cal Poly Pomona, hitting .345/.441/.670 with 16 home runs and 48 RBI in 52 games. He played 59 games in 2011 and hit .392/.534/.744 with 16 home runs and 51 RBI.[29] He earned numerous honors, including the 2010-11 California Collegiate Athletic Association Male Athlete of the Year, 2011 CCAA Most Valuable Player and Daktronics American Baseball Coaches Association/Rawlings and National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association West Region Player of the Year and a NCAA Division II All-American selection by Daktronics, the NCBWA and the ABCA.

The Mets drafted him in the 18th round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft and assigned him to Low-A Brooklyn. In 56 games, he hit .299/.387/.557 with nine home runs and 44 RBI. He earned his first Player of the Week honor that season, was named a MiLB.com Organization All-Star and was a New York–Penn League Mid-Season All-Star. He hit .255/.362/.477 with 19 home runs and 65 RBI in 112 games split between the Savannah Sand Gnats and St. Lucie Mets in 2012, won another Player of the Week and was a South Atlantic League Mid-Season All-Star. In 2013, he hit .271/.356/.531 with 38 doubles, 23 home runs, 69 RBI and 131 strikeouts in 120 games split between St. Lucie and the Binghamton Mets. He was a Player of the Week twice and was again a MiLB.com Organization All-Star. With Binghamton in 2014, he hit .248/.357/.476 with 15 home runs and 64 RBI in 101 games and earned another Player of the Week selection.[30] He began 2015 with Las Vegas, his first stay at Triple-A. In his first 15 games, he hit .352/.419/.667.

He is projected to be, at minimum, a fourth outfielder and a power bat off the bench with the potential to be an effective starting outfielder with 20-home run power.[31][32] He has been listed on numerous Mets top prospect lists.[33]

Zach Thornton

Zachary James Thornton (born May 19, 1988) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

Thornton graduated from Oak Park High School in Oak Park, California. The San Francisco Giants selected Thornton in the 43rd round of the 2008 MLB draft, but he opted not to sign.[34] Thornton enrolled at Ventura College. He transferred to the University of Oregon, to continue his college career with the Oregon Ducks. The Oakland Athletics selected Thornton in the 23rd round of the 2010 MLB draft,[35] and he signed. Thornton made his professional debut with the Vancouver Canadians of the Class A-Short Season Northwest League.[36]

In 2011, Thornton had a 5-4 win–loss record, a 2.39 earned run average, and 82 strikeouts for the Burlington Bees of the Class A Midwest League. At mid-season, he appeared in the Midwest League All-Star Game. He pitched for the Stockton Ports of the Class A-Advanced California League in 2012. The Athletics traded Thornton to the Pittsburgh Pirates after the 2012 season for Chris Resop.[37] In the 2013 season, Thornton recorded 90 strikeouts to 12 walks. He was considered a potential selection in the 2013 Rule 5 draft,[38][39] but he was not selected.

On April 18, 2014, the Pirates traded Thornton and a player to be named later for Ike Davis.[40]

Jeff Walters

Jeffrey Walters (born November 6, 1987) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

Walters was drafted by MLB teams five different times.[41] He signed after being drafted by the New York Mets in the seventh round of the 2010 Major League Baseball draft out of the University of Georgia.[42]

Walters was the closer for the Binghamton Mets in 2013.[43] He led all minor league players in saves with 38.[44] He was added to the Mets 40-man roster on November 20, 2013.[45] Walters underwent Tommy John surgery in June 2014.[46]

Gabriel Ynoa

Gabriel Ynoa (born May 26, 1993) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in the New York Mets organization.

Ynoa signed with the New York Mets as an international free agent in November 2009. He made his professional debut that season with the Dominican Summer League Mets. Pitching for the Savannah Sand Gnats in 2013, Ynoa was named the South Atlantic League Pitcher of the Year, after winning 15 games and recording a 2.72 earned run average (ERA).[47] Ynoa started 2014 with the St. Lucie Mets and was promoted to the Double-A Binghamton Mets during the season.[48]
