Tyron Henderson (born 1 August 1974, Durban, Natal) is a South African cricketer.

Henderson has represented South Africa in a Twenty20 International. An all-rounder, Henderson played for Middlesex. He was purchased by the Rajasthan Royals for whopping $650,000 in the Indian Premier League Season 2 Auction. The auction for him saw a fierce bidding war between the Royals and the Deccan Chargers which resulted in him being sold for $550,000 more than his base price of $100,000. He has previously represented Highveld Lions, Cape Cobras and Warriors franchises in South Africa as well as Kent and Berkshire and Border with whom he made his first-class and List A debuts in 1998-99.

In June 2007 Henderson was signed by Middlesex as a short-term replacement for Chaminda Vaas, he made 6 Twenty20 appearances taking 6 wickets. For the 2008 season he was re-signed by the county under the Kolpak ruling. In the 2008 Twenty20 Cup he scored 281 runs at 40.14 and took 21 wickets at 16.61.

At the 2008 T20 Finals day, Henderson became the sixth player to hit 50 sixes in Twenty20 cricket, in a Man of the Match performance against the Durham Dynamos. In the final against Kent, he bowled the final over of the match. With 4 needed from the final two balls, Henderson bowled a dot ball and then ran out Justin Kemp to win the title for Middlesex.

Henderson held the record for the most wickets taken in Twenty20 cricket.[1]

Henderson has since retired from cricket, as of 2012.

IPL 2009

Tyron Henderson's bidding started at $100,000 and the interested buyers were Deccan and Rajasthan. Mumbai eventually raised the bid to $200,000. Deccan bid $300,000 but Rajasthan went up to $325,000 after which Deccan raised it further to $350,000. Rajasthan continued to compete, forcing Deccan to raise their bid to $400,000. Rajasthan raised it to $425,000 but Deccan came back with a bid of $450,000. Not to be outdone, Rajasthan went up to $475,000 but Deccan would not be deterred, raising it to $500,000. The bids continued to escalate and Deccan just when Deccan seemed to have secured Henderson for $600,000, Rajasthan went up to $650,000. Deccan did not raise their bid and Tyron Henderson went to Rajasthan.
