The Ambrose–Torquay Border Crossing connects the towns of Ambrose, North Dakota and Torquay, Saskatchewan on the Canada–US border. Interestingly, the border communities of Ambrose and Torquay have taken very different paths over the course of the latter half of the 20th century. While Torquay's population has remained relatively steady (between 200 and 300 residents) since 1930,[1] the population of Ambrose has shrunk from 389 to 26.[2]

The United States continues to use the border station it built in 1937. The tiny Canadian border station was built in 1957.
