The University of the Philippines Diliman Extension Program in Olongapo (U.P.D.E.P.O.) is an extension of the University of the Philippines Diliman and a sister extension program of University of the Philippines Diliman Extension Program in Pampanga. It offers Master of Management (MM) program.

History

The UP Extension Program in Olongapo (UPDEPO) was launched in response to the Olongapo City Government’s request for quality higher education for the provinces of Bataan and Zambales. It began to operate during the 1st semester AY 84-85. The Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between UP President Edgardo Angara and Olongapo City Mayor Richard Gordon, formally establishing UPEPO, was signed on July 30, 1985.In the first sixteen years of its existence, UPDEPO found home at the Olongapo City National High School, where it held classes on weekends. It moved to a building of its own inside Subic Bay Freeport on the 1st semester AY 00-01. This was by virtue of another MOA, this time between UP and the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA), which was signed in October 1999.

The imposing UPDEPO complex can be found just to the right of the SBMA main entrance gate near the Asinan area. There is ample free parking space. All the ten spacious and well-lit classrooms and the well-stocked library are air-conditioned.

Graduate Program

The Master of Management (MM) program aims to train qualified students for a professional career in the management of public offices, business ventures, and educational institutions. It above all seeks to develop manager’s skills in his/her particular field of endeavor. It also seeks to enable the manager to competently relate the enterprise’s manifold activities with management objectives.
