Vincent Janssen (born 15 June 1994, in Heesch) is a Dutch professional footballer who currently plays as a striker for AZ in the Dutch Eredivisie.

Club career

He formerly played in the Feyenoord youth team, winning the national title in 2013, and for the Eerste Divisie team Almere City. In 2015 he moved to Eredivisie side AZ Alkmaar. On May 8th 2016, Vincent Janssen became the top scorer of the Eredivisie, in his first season, with a total of 27 goals.[1]

International career

Janssen received his first call up to the senior Netherlands team in March 2016 for friendlies against France and England.[2] Janssen played a pivotal role in his first international start, a 1-2 win against England on 29th March 2016, scoring his first senior international goal, and providing an assist.[3]

Personal life

Janssen is the son of Piet Janssen and Annemarie Verstappen, a former world champion swimmer and Dutch Sportswoman of the year.
