Visa policy of Angola

In accordance with the law, citizens of all countries except Namibia require a visa to visit Angola.[1] Holders of normal passports issued to nationals of Cape Verde can obtain a visa on arrival provided it has been pre-arranged before departure. Visa on arrival is also available to the personnel of oil companies established in Angola, provided holding necessary documents including a visa on arrival application that must be submitted by the oil company at least 2 weeks prior to arrival. Holders of diplomatic or official passports of the following countries can also visit Angola without a visa : Algeria, Argentina, Brazil, Cape Verde, China, Cuba, Egypt, France,[2] Guinea-Bissau, Italy, Mozambique, Portugal, Russia, Sao Tome and Principe, South Africa, South Korea, Switzerland, Vietnam and Zambia.[3]

A tourist visa must be used within 60 days from the issue date and is valid for 30 days, a period that can be extended once for an additional period of 30 days. Passports must have a validity of 9 months and 2 blank pages. Transit without visa is allowed for passengers continuing their trip to a third country by the same or first departing plane if they do not leave the airport.[4]

Angola is expected to become part of the universal KAZA visa in 2016.[5]
