WMZQ-FM is a radio station located at 98.7 FM in Washington, D.C.. The station has had a country music format since 1977. Before becoming country, they had been WMOD, an oldies station. The station had originally signed on in 1946 as WOL-FM and simulcasted their then sister R&B station, WOL. The station had been owned by Sonderling, then Viacom, then AM/FM and is now owned by iHeartMedia, Inc. (formerly Clear Channel Media + Entertainment).
As of 2015[update], the morning show is the syndicated "Bobby Bones Show". Some previous morning shows include: "Boxer in the Morning with Aly Jacobs", "Ben and Brian", "Murphy and Cash", and "Jim London and Mary Ball".
