Wanda Vista Tower Chicago (formerly known as 375 E. Wacker) is an approved supertall skyscraper planned for Chicago, Illinois.[1] Upon completion, it will become the city's third tallest building at 1,186 feet.[2] It will replace the city's Aqua Tower as the tallest structure in the world designed by a woman (Both Aqua and the Wanda Vista Tower are designed by the same person, Jeanne Gang). The Chicago Plan Commission approved the building on November 19, 2015 in a meeting that also resulted in the approval of the 113 East Roosevelt development.[3] Construction is to begin in 2016 with completion by 2020.[4]

Usage

The building will have four-hundred and six residences and a five-star Wanda Vista Hotel.

Design

The building will be composed of three connected towers. Each tower will be a different height, with the westernmost being the tallest.[5] The towers will have 47, 71 and 93 stories, respectively.[6] Condominium interiors will be designed by hospitality design firm Hirsch Bedner Associates. The hotel interior will be designed by San Francisco firm Gensler.[7] Philadelphia-based OLIN will design the project's green spaces, including the rooftop gardens.
