Werner Otto Sanne (5 April 1889  – 26 September 1952) was a highly decorated Generalleutnant in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded several divisions He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Werner Sanne was captured by Soviet troops in 1943 after the surrender of German forces at Stalingrad. He died in 1952 at Krasnopol Prison Camp.
