West Bengal Surface Transport Corporation {পশ্চিমবঙ্গ ভূতল পরিবহণ সংস্থা} (WBSTC) is a West Bengal state government undertaken transport corporation. Besides plying buses throughout West Bengal it controls some waterways transport, e.g. ferries. WBSTC owns many depots throughout the state to station their buses. West Bengal Surface Transport Corporation was established in the year 1989. Formerly it was known as West Bengal Inland Water Transport Corporation Ltd. It started with the Ferry Service on the Hoogly and the Muriganga rivers. In the year 1992 it started operating buses with only 8 buses; now it has 85 buses and 20 vessels for Passenger Ferry Service. Now in Kolkata it is operating Volvo City Bus Services in public-private partnership mode with Kaushik Logistics in the Airport - Tollygunge route. Right now its fleet consists of 60 Volvo low-floor buses and plans to add more in the near future. It is currently running the air-conditioned Volvo low-floor buses mostly to and from the airport.
