William Vere Reeve King-Fane

Colonel William Vere Reeve King-Fane OBE, DL (29 October 1868 – 5 November 1943) was a member of the Fane family an English landowner, soldier and High Sheriff of Lincolnshire.
Background
William Vere Reeve Fane was a member of the Fane family of Fulbeck Hall, Lincolnshire. He was the eldest son of William Dashwood Fane.
Life
Fane was a lawyer who volunteered for service in the Boer War in South Africa where the family farmed, and was a deputy lieutenant of Lincolnshire[1] before becoming High Sheriff of Lincolnshire in 1908. He was a Colonel in the Lincolnshire Regiment and in 1920 he changed his surname by Royal Licence to King-Fane on inheriting the Ashby Hall estate in Ashby de la Launde.
