Barrett Alexander Barnes (born July 29, 1991) is an American professional baseball outfielder in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Barnes played college baseball at Texas Tech University. After his junior year, he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the first round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. He signed with the Pirates and made his professional debut with the State College Spikes. He spent 2013 with the West Virginia Power, 2014 with the Gulf Coast Pirates, West Virginia and Bradenton Marauders and 2015 with Bradenton and Altoona Curve. Barnes missed numerous games from 2013 to 2015 due to injuries.

Steven Joseph Brault (born April 29, 1992) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Brault played college baseball at Regis University. He was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the 11th round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut with the Aberdeen IronBirds and spent 2014 with the Delmarva Shorebirds and Frederick Keys.

On February 20, 2015, Brault was sent from the Orioles to the Pittsburgh Pirates as the player to be named later from an earlier trade for Travis Snider. He started his Pirates career with the Bradenton Marauders and was later promoted to the Double-A Altoona Curve.

García signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent in February 2010. He made his professional debut that season with the Dominican Summer League Pirates. He spent 2011 with the Gulf Coast Pirates and State College Spikes, 2012 with the West Virginia Power and 2013 with Bradenton Marauders. In June 2013, he set the Marauders team record for hits in a game with six. García played 2014 with the Double-A Altoona Curve. He was added to the 40-man roster on November 20, 2014.

The Pirates signed Heredia in August 2010 for a $2,600,000 signing bonus. Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus ranked Heredia the 81st best prospect in baseball prior to the 2011 season. Heredia made his pro debut on June 21, 2011, for the Gulf Coast League Pirates. Kevin Goldstein of Baseball Prospectus ranked Heredia the 42nd best prospect in baseball prior to the 2012 season. He spent the 2012 season with the State College Spikes. Prior to the 2013 season, Heredia was ranked as the 78th best prospect in baseball by Baseball America.

He made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Pirates. Keller spent 2015 with the Bristol Pirates and started 2016 with the West Virginia Power.

His brother, Jon Keller, plays in the Baltimore Orioles organization.

Wyatt Lane Mathisen (born December 30, 1993) is a professional baseball player in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Mathisen attended Calallen High School in Corpus Christi, Texas. As a junior at Calallen, Mathisen was named to the All-State Tournament team, a District 31-4A MVP, a Max Prep All-American, a Perfect Game USA All-American, a USSSA All-American, a member of the USSSA 18u National team which competed internationally, the South Texas Player-of-the-Year and was a member of the Texas Rangers Area Code team. As a senior at Calallen, Mathisen hit .433 with 13 home runs and 40 RBI. Mathisen was drafted by the Pirates in the 2nd Round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft. Mathisen played shortstop in high school, but was drafted as a catcher. Mathisen broke a commitment to the University of Texas by signing with the Pirates for a $746,300 signing bonus. In June 2012, Mathisen started his pro career with the Gulf Coast League Pirates. Prior to the 2014 season, Mathisen was converted from a catcher to a third baseman.

Max Moroff (born May 13, 1993) is an American professional baseball infielder in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Moroff was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 16th round of the 2012 Major League Baseball draft out of Trinity Preparatory School in Winter Park, Florida. He signed on the last day of the trade deadline for $300,000 which equated to a 4th round slot bonus. On July 24, 2012, Moroff made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Pirates as the shortstop and leadoff hitter. He had a single, three walks and a stolen base. He has progressed a level every season, spending 2013 with the West Virginia Power and 2014 with the Bradenton Marauders. Moroff was then assigned to the Double-A Altoona Curve to begin the 2015 season.

Moroff had quite a breakout campaign during the 2015 season. He was named player of the week by the Eastern League for the week of April 20–26, batting .474 with four doubles, one triple, one homer, four RBI and two runs scored in 5 games. Moroff was then named to the Eastern League Mid-Season All-Star team where he started as the second baseman for the Western division. Towards the end of the season, Moroff was selected as a 2015 Eastern League All-Star. He finished the season breaking an Altoona Curve franchise record with 153 hits as a switch hitter, which was last set in 2002 at 142 hits. On September 11, Moroff was named by Baseball America to one of the Minor League Classification All-Star Teams, where he was selected as the AA second baseman out of the Eastern League, Texas League, and Southern League. On September 15, Moroff was named as the Pittsburgh Pirates Minor League Player of the Year, after batting .293 with 28 doubles, six triples, seven home runs, 51 RBI, 17 stolen bases, 79 runs scored and a .322 on-base percentage. He also lead the Eastern League in runs scored (79) and games played (136) while also ranking second in hits (153), third in walks (70) and fourth in total bases (214). In the field, Moroff led all Eastern League second basemen in fielding percentage (.978), double plays (76) and assists (330). The Pirates added him to their 40-man roster after the season.

Daniel Ortiz (born January 5, 1990) is a Puerto Rican professional baseball outfielder for the Pittsburgh Pirates of Major League Baseball (MLB).

Ortiz was drafted in the fourth round (126th overall) by the Minnesota Twins in the 2008 MLB draft out of Benjamin Harrison High School in Cayey, Puerto Rico. After signing for $253,000, Ortiz reported to the GCL Twins where he did well, hitting .274 with two home runs and 27 RBIs over 48 games. Daniel was forced to miss the 2009 season after undergoing left knee surgery during the offseason and as a result, his stock dropped dramatically from a high-round draft selection to a player still playing in a Rookie League two seasons after being drafted. Ortiz did little to change that perception over the next two years, hitting .259 with 11 homers and 43 RBIs over 62 games with the Elizabethton Twins in 2010 and .239 with 10 homers and 71 RBIs the following year with Low-A Beloit. For the 2012 season, Ortiz began the year back with the Snappers but quickly proved that he was a changed player, hitting .299 with 8 runs and 13 RBIs through only 22 games and earning himself a spot on the midseason Midwest League all-star team. This production was enough to warrant a promotion and Ortiz started the month of May with the High-A Fort Myers Miracle. Over the rest of the season, Ortiz continued to hit for both average and power, finishing with a .269 batting average, eight home runs and 35 RBIs. Ortiz was promoted again to begin the 2013 year, playing for the Double-A New Britain Rock Cats. Though at 23 he was 1.4 years younger than the average Double-A player, Ortiz proved that he was where he belonged, hitting a career high 12 home runs to go along with a .258 batting average and 60 RBIs. In 2014 Ortiz remained with the Rock Cats and absolutely tore up the Eastern League for 48 games, and he owned a .500 SLG%, a .325 AVG, and 31 RBIs before an early-June call up to the Rochester Red Wings. In only 55 games since his promotion, Ortiz has hit 7 home runs, driven in 29 runs, recorded a slugging percentage of .456, and owns a respectable .257 batting average, all in a league where he is a full three years younger than the average player. He signed a minor league contract with the Pittsburgh Pirates in December 2015.

Ramírez signed with the Pittsburgh Pirates as an international free agent in July 2011. He made his professional debut in 2012 with the Gulf Coast Pirates. In 2013 he played for the Jamestown Jammers. Playing for the West Virginia Power in 2014, he set the team record for longest hitting streak. The Pirates added him to their 40-man roster after the 2015 season.

Ángel Luis Sánchez (born November 28, 1989) is a Dominican professional baseball pitcher in Minor League Baseball for the Pittsburgh Pirates' organization.

He signed with the Los Angeles Dodgers as an amateur free agent in 2010 and played with the Great Lakes Loons in the Midwest League in 2011, where he was 8–4 in 20 games (16 starts) with a 2.82 ERA. He was promoted to the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes in 2012 where he struggled a bit, going 6–12 with a 6.58 ERA in 27 games (23 starts).

Sánchez returned to Great Lakes to start 2013 where he was 2–7 with a 4.88 ERA in 14 starts before he was returned to Rancho Cucamonga.

On July 6, 2013, he was traded to the Miami Marlins (along with Josh Wall and Steve Ames) for Ricky Nolasco. He was added to the Marlins 40-man roster on November 20, 2013.

The Tampa Bay Rays claimed Sánchez off waivers on June 13, 2014, and optioned him to the Double-A Montgomery Biscuits. He was designated for assignment on June 30. He was claimed off waivers by the Chicago White Sox on July 2, and optioned to the High-A Winston-Salem Dash.

Stephen Nicholas Tarpley (born February 17, 1993) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Tarpley was drafted by the Cleveland Indians in the eighth round of the 2011 Major League Baseball draft out of Gilbert High School in Gilbert, Arizona. He did not sign with the Indians and attended the University of Southern California (USC) to play college baseball for the Trojans. After one year at USC, he transferred to Scottsdale Community College. Tarpley was then drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the third round of the 2013 MLB draft. He signed with the Orioles and made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Orioles. He spent 2014 with the Aberdeen IronBirds.

On January 27, 2015, Tarpley along with a player to be named later was traded to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Travis Snider.

Trevor Anthony Williams (born April 25, 1992) is an American professional baseball pitcher in the Pittsburgh Pirates organization.

Williams played college baseball at Arizona State University for the Sun Devils from 2011 to 2013. He started 38 games during his career, going 18–8 with a 2.98 earned run average (ERA).

Williams was drafted by the Miami Marlins in the second round of the 2013 Major League Baseball draft. He made his professional debut with the Gulf Coast Marlins and also played for the Batavia Muckdogs and Greensboro Grasshoppers that year. Williams started 2014 with the Jupiter Hammerheads and was promoted to the Jacksonville Suns in August.

On October 24, 2015, the Marlins traded Williams to the Pittsburgh Pirates for Richard Mitchell as compensation for the Marlins hiring Jim Benedict from the Pirates as their new vice president of pitching development.
