Yaghmai, also spelled Yaghmaie, Yaghmaei, and Yaghmaee, (Persian: یغمایی‎‎) is a large Iranian family descended from Mirza Rahim 'Yaghma Jandaghi,' a well-known poet living during the ruling of Mohammad Shah Qajar of the Qajar dynasty in the late 1700s. The Yaghmai family originated from the Khoor-o-Biyabanak region of the Isfahan Province of Iran. Today there are still many Yaghmaies living in that region and throughout the years many have moved to Tehran, Mashhad, and other parts of the world including North America—especially Los Angeles -- Europe, and Asia.

The Yaghmai family consists of a number of professionals in the fields of science, medicine, literature, entertainment, arts, and law. Many of these professionals have made noteworthy contributions to humanity and their respective professions. Dr. Saeed Yaghmai, engineer, Dr. Issa Yaghmai, radiological scientist, Dr.Masoud Yaghmaei, oral and maxillofacial surgeon, Habib Yaghmai, poet, Eghbal Yaghmai, writer and translator, Afsaneh Yaghmai, writer and poet, Kourosh Yaghmaei, singer-songwriter (pre-Islamic revolution), Kaveh Yaghmaei, singer-songwriter, Raeeka Shehabi-Yaghmai, opera singer, Amir Yaghmai, musician, Saman Yaghmai-Aledavoud, director and cinematographer, Houtan Yaghmai, producer, Rosha Yaghmai, fine artist, and Maziar Yaghmai, Italian writer, are to name a few.[citation needed]

The patriarch of the family, Mr. Keyhan Yaghmai, died in 2005 in his mid-90s; however, the family is survived by hundreds across the world.
