There are the townlets and villages like Gornja Brela, Zadvarje, Žeževica, Grabovac, Rastovac, Zagvozd, Župa, Rašćane i Kozica.
Major economic activities there were cattle raising, grape growing, and hunting. Part of this area is in Nature Park Biokovo. From the south-eastern side of the mountain of Biokovo is the Makarska riviera.
