List of minor Power Rangers characters

This page is for minor and supplementary characters in the Power Rangers universe, appearing in the television series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, its sequels and related media. Characters listed here are either incidental characters, or characters that aid the Power Rangers team but are not Rangers themselves.

Characters are listed alphabetically according to the series (or movie) in which they first appeared.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers

Ernie

Ernie, played by Richard Genelle, was a supporting character from the show's early days all the way through Power Rangers Zeo. He was the owner of the Angel Grove Youth Center and also owned a juice bar and has hosted various events. Ernie was around to lend a helping hand or advice to various characters, but was often annoyed with Bulk and Skull's antics and a few times before he had thrown the duo out. Until season 2's Rocky just wants to have fun, Bulk and Skull believed Ernie may be a member of the Power Rangers since he had a day off every time Rita attacked Angel Grove; they hadn't been paying attention well, since Ernie usually was in the Youth Center whenever a tremor was caused by an attack.

Ernie was revealed to have known the secret identities of the Power Rangers the whole time, but kept it to himself and offered them free stuff as his way of thanking the teens without letting them know.

Ernie opened an outdoor cafe in season three, and a Hawaiian themed beach cafe in Zeo. By Turbo, both locations had seemed to have lost favor and the Rangers went back to simply using the original snack bar back at the Youth Center.

Ernie departed the show to do volunteer work in South America between Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie and the following series, leaving the Youth Center to Jerome Stone.

Mr. Caplan

Mr. Caplan, portrayed by Henry Cannon, was a supporting character and at times an antagonistic principal to Angel Grove High School. For most of the time, he was a strict, but fair and well meaning principal. Mr. Caplan was often irritated by Bulk and Skull's antics, and he frequently put them in detention; in his final appearance in the Turbo episode Carlos and the Count, he inquires if Bulk and Skull had already graduated, but puts them in detention regardless. He and Ms. Appleby were close friends, and in a few episodes, Mr. Caplan was seen substituting for her. A running gag in MMPR involves his toupee flying off his head at the most inopportune times.

Ms. Appleby

Ms. Appleby, portrayed by Royce Herron, was a supporting character and a teacher at Angel Grove High School. She is well meaning and fair teacher who takes great interest in her students with their activities. However, Appleby can switch into disciplinarian mode when she is confronted by Bulk and Skull's antics. When Tommy's communicator was damaged after he fell, it beeped randomly; she mistoke it for a pager and briefly confiscated. She returned it after Tommy apologised.

Jerome Stone

Jerome Stone, portrayed by Greg Bullock, was a supporting character in Season 3 through the series end. He originally was the head of the Junior Police Patrol. When Stone is relieved of duty due to Bulk and Skull's unintentional misconduct towards the chief's daughter in Zeo, he opens up a Private Detective agency which the boys later join. In Turbo, he is seen running the Youth Center while Ernie is in South America. After the end of Turbo, Stone, along with the Youth Center are removed from the series, with no explanation given. Although, careful observation of the Surf Spot suggests that Stone (or Ernie) sold the Youth Center (or it could be due to reusing the repainted set).

Tom Oliver (clone)

Tom Oliver, portrayed by Jason David Frank, was an exact clone of Tommy Oliver that was created and enchanted by the Wizard of Deception to serve as the Evil Green Ranger for Lord Zedd and Rita Repulsa. He is referred to as "Tom" to differentiate himself from Tommy. He decided to remain in colonial Angel Grove to assist however he can, and because there couldn't be two Tommys in the present; ironically, this could have also started the bloodline of Tommy's family.

Wild West Rangers

Wild West Rangers appear in a two-part episode of the same name during the end of the second season. They are the Old West ancestors of Rocky, Adam, Aisha, and Billy and temporarily obtain Ranger Powers when Kimberly is transported to their time. As Rangers, the Wild West Rangers have outfits identical to those of their descendants, except for the addition of cowboy attire. The White Stranger could not gain a power coin for two reasons: Rita still had the Dragon power coin, and the White Tiger power coin would not be created until the 1990s. With the exception for the White Stranger and Kimberly, the Wild West Rangers originally didn't know how to fight. However, they were able to overcome it and blast both Goldar and Needlenose back to the time warp to Kimberly's timeline.

The known Wild West Rangers were as follows:

• Rocko DeSantos, Red Wild West Ranger (Steve Cardenas)
• Abraham Park, Black Wild West Ranger (Johnny Yong Bosch)
• Miss Alicia Campbell, Yellow Wild West Ranger (Karan Ashley)
• William Cranston, Blue Wild West Ranger (David Yost)
• Kimberly Hart (from the 20th Century) served as the team's Pink Ranger as well as their leader.
• White Stranger, (although did not receive any power coin) (Jason David Frank)

Kimberly had an Old West ancestor named Fuchsia O'Hara (also played by Amy Jo Johnson). However, she only appears at the end of the episode (after Kimberly goes back to the present time) and thus does not receive the Pink Power.

Ninjor

Ninjor appears in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television series. He is the American counterpart of Ninjaman from Ninja Sentai Kakuranger, of which Season 3 of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and the Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers miniseries are based. His voice is highly reminiscent of the cartoon character Dudley Do-Right.

Ninjor resides in the Temple of Power. He first appears in the "Ninja Quest" storyarc when the Rangers' travel to the Temple of Power and gives them their Ninja powers after their Thunderzords are destroyed by Rito Revolto. After the Temple of Power is attacked by the Vampirus monster, Ninjor joins the team as a recurring seventh member, arriving when called upon for help. Ninjor was temporarily captured by the villains and used to power Blue Globber; however, he managed to escape thanks to Rito's blundering with the vase that served as his prison. He claims to be a fan of football, but doesn't know the correct terms for the game; Rocky had to correct him during their fight with Centiback.

Ninjor is dropped as a recurring character when the Alien Rangers miniseries begins. In-universe, he is mentioned for the final time in the first episode of Power Rangers Zeo as having returned to his temple.

Alpha 4

Alpha 4 was a fictional robot in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series. He was the predecessor to Alpha 5 and has exactly the same voice (performed by Richard Steven Horvitz) and body design with the exception that the yellow lights on his chestplate on either side of the lightning bolt was slightly farther apart. He appears in The Mighty Morphin Power Rangers episode: Wild West Rangers Part 1 & 2, his torso also appears in The Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers episodes Sowering The Seas of Evil and Hogday Afternoon Part 1, while Rito and Goldar are stuck in the Command Center.

Bookala

Bookala was a kind-hearted and intelligent extraterrestrial from a planet of the same name, Bookala. He was travelling light years away when his ship came under attack by Lord Zedd in Serpentera. Bookala's ship housed a rare Lightning Diamond that Zedd wishes to install in his own zord that would end its frequent power failures and render it invincible. The Rangers got to Bookala and his ship before Zedd did and helped repair his ship along with keeping Zedd distracted with a fake Lightning Diamond. As gratitude for their help, Bookala used his magic and let the Rangers briefly see snow before going back to doll size and flying home.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie

Dulcea

Dulcea, portrayed by Gabrielle Fitzpatrick, is a character from Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie. She is the master warrior of the planet Phaedos, who carries a staff that can become two different weapons when separated. Dulcea comes to the Rangers' aid and scares away the Tengus. At first she distrusts the Power Rangers, but they gain her trust by telling her that Zordon, a friend of hers, is their mentor. Before turning into an owl, she gives them directions to the ancient ruins of the Ninjetti Temple, where they gain their new Ninjetti powers. It is revealed that Dulcea is an old enemy of Ivan Ooze, evident when he refers her as a she devil. In the television series, Dulcea's role is replaced by Ninjor.

When David Yost gave an interview in 2010, he said that after Fitzpatrick had to be hospitalized, Mariska Hargitay was recast as Dulcea. Hargitay's scenes were later cut and she was let go after Fitzpatrick recovered from her surgery, and she returned to the film.

Power Rangers Zeo

Auric the Conqueror

Auric the Conqueror, portrayed by Derek Stephen Prince, is an ancient tiki that had been dormant on the tropical Mysterio Island for countless years. He was discovered by Tanya Sloan's parents after an expedition which lasted many years. "The lost tiki of Auric,"as he was called in Africa, was up until that time a myth only.

Despite his villainous-sounding title, Auric lives to protect the weak and to fight evil though he always prefers to try to talk through a situation before he uses violence (though this almost never works). He does not like to be deceived, and goes into a fly of rage when he does. He's extremely powerful, once defeating a monster the Super Zeo Megazord couldn't stop, with one swing from his sword, but isn't very smart and is very gullible. Unfortunately Auric can be cowardly and if frightened he will retreat into his Tiki form like a turtle retreats into its shell. Auric can blow tremendous gusts of wind from his mouth and can heal extremely fast.

Auric is usually found as a small statuette of a head with a key hole on its face. With the golden key of Auric, the bearer can unlock Auric causing him to expand to his full size of over 40 stories tall or to a more humanoid size of roughly 8 feet tall. Auric has a slashing long broad sword which he uses in battle and also as a finishing attack against villains. Tanya chose Jason Lee Scott, the current Gold Ranger, to be the keeper of Auric.

Cestria

Cestria is an Aquitian that appeared as the final love interest for Billy Cranston. She was first encountered when Billy began to suffer from accelerated ageing, during which time Billy travelled to Aquitar to receive treatment. When he was cured, he chose to remain on Aquitar with Cestria rather than return to Earth. It was assumed that given her pink energy teleport, Cestria was the Pink Aquitian Ranger, but this has never been confirmed.

Power Rangers Turbo

Blue Senturion

The Blue Senturion, portrayed by David Walsh, is a robotic intergalactic police officer from the future. Having been sent to 1997 from near future, Blue Senturion was to deliver a warning to Dimitria; the United Alliance of Evil would conquer the universe and split its riches between them. Unfortunately, Divatox got to him first and erased the message. Blue Senturion assists citizens however he can, and is usually seen placing parking tickets on cars whenever the rangers find him.

The Blue Senturion has his own Zord, the Robo Racer. His weapons include the Senturion Synergizer, which has a sword and blaster mode, and he also has the Senturion Cycle. The Senturion has been turned evil on two occasions; once by a wish made by Divatox with a magic coin and once by wearing a bewitched jacket Divatox had been circulating. The reason behind these tactics is that Blue Senturion cannot be turned evil by conventional means; Divatox temporarily managed to make him think the rangers were evildoers by rewiring him.

At the end of the Turbo season, the Blue Senturion departs Earth to aid Zordon on Eltar. He later appears in the Countdown to Destruction duology, where he and the Phantom Ranger defend the Phantom Ranger's homeworld.

The last part of the Blue Senturion's name is an S in the place of a C which has the soft C sound, thus misspelling the word "centurion".

Dimitria

Dimitria serves as mentor to the Rangers after Zordon departs for Eltar. She also brings Alpha 6 with her, and comes from the planet Inquiris. Dimitria wore a white robe and also half of a white face shroud. Initially, Dimitria spoke in questions constantly, until the episode Passing the Torch, after which she spoke normally.

In the episode "Transmission Impossible", it was revealed that Dimitria had a twin sister, but that she had disappeared. The identity of this twin sister was never revealed but is believed to be Divatox due to her resemblance to Dimitra when she's purified.

She later departs Earth with the Blue Senturion to help Zordon on Eltar, but is never seen or referred to again.

The role of Dimitria was played by Carol Hoyt, the same actress who played Divatox in the first half of the Power Rangers Turbo season. Divatox was played by Hoyt in the first half of the season due to the original actress Hilary Shepard Turner becoming pregnant.

Alpha 6

Alpha 6 is a fictional robot in the Power Rangers series such as Power Rangers Turbo, Power Rangers In Space and Power Rangers Lost Galaxy

In the fictional Power Rangers universe, Alpha 6 is the next Alpha robot in the series of fully sentient multi-functional automatons. He is put into operation, along with Dimitria, after Zordon and Alpha 5 go to the planet Eltar. Alpha 6 is first seen in the Power Rangers Turbo episode "Shift into Turbo, Part III," but he is first mentioned in "Mighty Morphin Alien Rangers" by Alpha 5.

He talks with New York like accent. However, Alpha is knowledgeable and able to help the Rangers through various problems and adventures. He even helps to save the Phantom Ranger's life.

During the explosion of the Power Chamber, his voice chip is damaged, making him speak gibberish and have reversed words. After following the Rangers into space and meeting up with the Astro Megaship, Alpha 6 gets a new voice circuit board from Andros, the alien from KO-35 and the Red Space Ranger. The new voice resembles that of Alpha 5 (even restoring the familiar expression of 'Ai-yi-yi'), albeit a higher-pitched, somewhat effeminate version. During the installation of the new voice circuitry, Alpha is asked to describe his mission in life as a test. Alpha recites his mission as follows: "My mission is to protect the Power Rangers. And their quest: To protect the universe from the forces of evil. One goal, one team, known as the Power Rangers." It is revealed by DECA that Alpha 6 has 3,004,700,903 individual circuit terminals inside him. This is explained while Carlos is attempting to repair his voice chip.

Alpha is instrumental in the decryption of the Power Decoder; which allows the Space Shuttle to combine with the Megaship to form the Astro Megazord. He eventually locates the Mega Vehicles, and prevents Ecliptor from taking over the Astro Megaship.

After the adventures of Power Rangers in Space, Alpha 6 stays on the Megaship;which becomes a museum. Both Alpha and the Megaship became recommissioned by the soon-to-be Lost Galaxy Rangers when Scorpius begins attacking Mirinoi.

At the end of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, Alpha 6 ends up leaving the Astro Megaship after it starts its self-destruct mechanism. He then proceeds to live in peace on Mirinoi with the Lost Galaxy Rangers, and the crew of Terra Venture.

In the Operation Overdrive episode "Once a Ranger", Alpha 6 is uncovered in a warehouse in Angel Grove. He is reconnected by Andrew Hartford on Adam Park's suggestion to help restore the Operation Overdrive Power Rangers' link back to the Morphing Grid. Adam later asks Alpha to help out at his dojo.

Power Rangers in Space

Adelle Ferguson

Adelle Ferguson (Aloma Wright) serves as the replacement figure for the characters Ernie and Jerome Stone from previous seasons, serving as the proprietor of the restaurant that the Rangers choose as their new after-school hangout, the Surf Spot. She proves to be a courageous figure, stepping up as one of the Angel Grove citizens who claims to be a Power Ranger during Astronema's attack on Earth.

D.E.C.A.

The artificial intelligence program who controls the Astro Megaship, voiced by Julie Maddalena and usually represented by one of her security camera "eyes" on the ship, which blinked red while she spoke. For a time she was Andros' only companion, but later assisted the other Power Rangers after they came aboard. She was temporarily reprogrammed by the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles after they themselves were brainwashed and took over the ship, but eventually returned to normal. D.E.C.A. continued to provide assistance to the Space Rangers and later the Galaxy Rangers after they came into possession of the Astro Megaship. However, she was presumably destroyed when the Astro Megaship was sacrificed to stop the Scorpion Stinger in the finale of Power Rangers Lost Galaxy.

Zhane

Zhane (Justin Nimmo) is a childhood friend of Andros and Karone. After Karone's kidnapping, he joins Andros in becoming a Power Ranger, serving as the Silver Ranger alongside him.

Professor Phenomenus

Professor Phenomenus, portrayed by Jack Banning, is an eccentric yet brilliant scientist. After Bulk and Skull observe Astronema's Dark Fortress through a telescope one night, they come to him for help. Phenomenus believes anything harmless can be an alien in disguise. He says, "it looks normal 'to the untrained eye.'" Phenomenus, along with Bulk, Skull, and other civilians of Angel Grove, claimed to be the Power Rangers to Astronema in the season finale. He claimed to be the Red Ranger.

In Power Rangers Lost Galaxy, Bulk and Skull were to board the space colony, Terra Venture, in its voyage to the New World. However, Skull overslept thus only Phenomenus and Bulk got aboard, not remembering Skull until they got on Terra Venture. In the episode "Stolen Beauty," it was revealed that the two were "booted" from the GSA's science division and worked as bartenders at the Comet Cafe. They appeared again in the season finale.
