Mike Cernovich is an American writer, attorney, and documentary filmmaker. He is the bestselling author of Gorilla Mindset and the producer of the documentary Silenced. He is a popular author and independent journalist, and has 133k followers on Twitter. He was one of the first observers of the American political scene to predict that Donald Trump would be the Republican presidential candidate.

Early life

Cernovich grew up on welfare in Illinois. His mother was bipolar and was institutionalized in his teenage years. He enlisted with the National Guard when he was 17. After graduating from the University of Illinois, he attended the Pepperdine University School of Law. He passed the California Bar twice, the second time in 2013. He was married for ten years before divorcing and receiving a 7-figure settlement. In 2015, he married his wife Shauna in Tulum, Mexico.

Writing career

In 2012, Cernovich launched Danger & Play, a blog focused on mindset and men's self-improvement. Danger & Play had traffic of 5.6 million pageviews in 2015.

In 2015, Cernovich published Gorilla Mindset, which became the #1 bestseller in the Health category on Amazon. As of October 2016, the book had sold more than 40,000 copies. In the same year, he also published Juice Power! and Danger & Play: Essays on Embracing Masculinity. In 2016, he wrote the Introduction to Cuckservative: How "Conservatives" Betrayed America by Vox Day and John Red Eagle, which was a #1 bestseller in Politics.

Cernovich's primary outlet is Twitter, where his monthly impressions have reached 124 million.

Philosophical views

Cernovich is known for libertarian, nationalist, and traditionalist views. He is a proponent of mindset and positive thinking; his influences include Donald Trump and Norman Vincent Peale. He is also an advocate of weightlifting and juicing.

Controversies

While in college, Cernovich was falsely accused of rape and was criminally charged. He was exonerated at trial. He describes himself as "Patient Zero to the false rape epidemic."

Cernovich is a supporter of #GamerGate and hosted the #GGinParis event with Vox Day and Milo Yiannopoulos in August 2015.
