Linebacker Mike Marks batted down quarterback Tim Clifford's two-point pass to preserve Purdue's 24-23 victory. The Hoosiers regained possession on the onside kick but Don Geisler missed a 59-yard field goal as time expired. In his final home game, Mark Herrmann finished 19 of 23 for 323 yards and a touchdown [6]
