3806 Tremaine is a small asteroid of the Alinda family. It was first sighted on 14 October 1975 [1] and given the provisional designation 1975 TY₅. Two more sightings occurred (1979 SC₁₁ and 1979 TL₂) before the March 1, 1981 sighting by Schelte J. Bus (provisional designation 1981 EW₃₂) finally nailed down the orbit.

It is named for the noted Canadian astrophysicist Scott Tremaine.
